Abstract

The Food Production Unit (Propang) is an element of the Military Academy service unit which has the duties and functions of planning and implementing programs to produce food to improve the nutritional quality of cadets and Military Academy personnel. In carrying out food production, Propang Akmil has several livestock commodities, one of which is dairy cows. Dairy cow manure is currently not being utilized properly so it will indirectly pollute the environment. The purpose of this study was to determine the potential of cow manure as biogas to support the security system at the Propang Akmil Unit. The research method used is descriptive qualitative with data collection techniques through literature studies, interviews and documentation as well as observation. Based on the research results, it was found that cow manure in the Propang Akmil unit can be used as biogas. The biogas potential that can be produced is 88.55 m3/day and is equivalent to 88 80 watt bulbs that are on for 6 hours. So it can be concluded that cow manure in the Propang Akmil unit can be used as biogas to support the security system.
